Stepping out of your comfort zone. (New Job)

Today was the last day I worked at IHOP. It was a fun ride, but I had to step off at some point. Sometimes, when you are good at something, you start too feel like you can not be successful unless  you stick with that formula. You may begin to doubt if you can change paths, roles, careers or what ever.

Today I am taking a risk and treading on new ground, going forth into the unknown or at least the unbeknownst by me. I am shedding my role as general manager of a fast casual breakfast dinner and trying something new.

I will be training for some time. Roughly 6 weeks. After which time I step foot into a new market One I have only ever dipped my toe in. My new venture will carry some risk, but hopefully yield great reward.

I am looking forward to tomorrow, when my day will begin with a new task, a new challenge and new skills to master.

To those I left behind at Ihop, stay positive. Be great. Try to live by the example that I attempted to set for you all. Hard work and professionalism do pay off in the long run.

To my wife, thank you for allowing me to chase my dreams and pursue my goals in business. Without your support and your love I would have no voice and no back bone. I will be home soon.

Thanks to all for helping get me this far! I love you all for standing behind me!

Nerdy For Thirty Episode 11 (Father's Day)

Sometimes a love of gaming actually comes from your parents. Chris and I's Father Rick was always a technology buff and helped Chris and I explore our love of gaming when we were still kids and he  still follows gaming tech very closely. He bought me my first Nintendo and wouldn't let Chris settle for a shitty Xbox, he HAD to get a PS3. He also supported me getting the Sega CD and recently purchased a VR headset to show off the tech.

Chris and I had a great time going over memories of years past during this show and we also go over the new developments at the E3 Expo. This was a tough episode to record as I was losing my voice but we hung in there and clocked in nearly an hour of talk when we were only going for thirty minutes.

As always for those who listen you are very much appreciated. We do this for the love of podcasting and because we love to hear ourselves talk, but when we get feedback it means all the world to us so don't be shy about telling us what you think or offering an opinion. It will only help us get better.

Thanks for your time. Like and subscribe. And most importantly....SHARE THAT SHIT SON!

New Episode of 16Miles2Hell With Guest iamrickhunter

I had a great time recording this podcast with Rick and Philip. They are a couple of great hilarious individuals and they make conversation so natural. This episode I guest spot and we cover the first generation of the Sony PlayStation. There are a lot of great moments in this one. Hope you have as much fun listening to it as we had recording it! Thanks to everyone at the 16miles action mega bunker for having me! It was a blast!

Empyrion Alpha 6.0 Nerdy For Thirty! Lets Play

My new let's play series for Empyrion Galactic Survival Ver. Alpha 6.0.1. Basically I start a fresh game here and look for differences and changes from Ver. 5.0. This game is one of my favorites and I am really excited to check out some of the new features. The game features survival, crafting, space flight, resource gathering and multiplayer elements and meshes them into one awesome package. This first video isn't the most exciting as it covers the beginning of the early game, but more videos to follow. I will try to edit out the boring stuff.

Nerdy For Thirty Podcast Episode 10!

On today's episode of Nerdy For Thirty Podcast, my brother Chris and I discuss the new Friday the 13th game as well as Injustice 2. We cover some of our favorite crafting games and talk about some great mobile ports of table top board games. We also discuss some card gaming like Yugioh and Pokémon.

This was the first episode I edited with Audacity. It was a little difficult to figure out at first, but it is a learning process. There are some connection issues with our skype call early in, but those get resolved about 5 minutes in. Podcast editing is new to me as all of our previous shows were raw audio for the most part. I am excited to dive more into the editing rabbit hole and learn more about the software.

Recording with my brother is great fun, and even though we don't get many listeners its still a good stress reliever to have some sort of creative outlet for the stuff we like to do, which is talk about games and other nerdy crap.

The limit of space I have on sound cloud is annoying so I will be adding all our podcasts to YouTube with gameplay videos playing in the back ground. This way there is no need to take old episodes down and best of all its free!

Also look for my most recent appearance on the 16miles2hell Podcast also on soundcloud. This was another fun Podcast with my good friends Rick A Carroll and Philip White. The topic was PS1 and it was a blast from start to end. This Podcast should be out very soon,

Please like, share and subscribe to the Podcast if you gave it a listen! We had a great time making it.

Nerdy For Thirty Podcast Episode 1 Archive on Youtube.

Today I added the original episode of Nerdy For Thirty Podcast to YouTube. This is a place where I can keep the episode online for free as soundcloud gives you an upload limit. This was a fun episode to record as it was Chris's first podcast. as well as the first time we got to talk in quite a while.

I know we don't get many listeners but that's really not the point of the podcast. It's a fun hobby that relieves the stress of the everyday grind and gives us something to lock back on and say "wow! We made that!" It's also fun to be able to catch up with my Brother on a semi regular basis as we live in different cities.

On this episode of the podcast we talk some nostalgia with stories about games we played together when we were young such as Resident Evil, Final Fantasy 7, and Narc just to name a few. Chris was still getting his podcast water wings and its fun to listen to where it all started. He has since become more confident and sounds awesome on the mic.

So if you have nothing better to do enjoy this first episode of Nerdy For Thirty recorded by a couple of Wisconsin blokes that had a blast doing what they love.
